Terms of Service
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Welcome to Grassroot.gg, located at grassroot.gg (the “Service”). The Service is a marketplace that connects organizers — tournament organizers, streamers, creators and communities — with sponsors — businesses, brands and artists — so they can agree sponsorship deals. The Service is provided by Paper Tiger LLC, doing business as Grassroot.gg (“we”, “us”, “our”).
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Service. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you (i) acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms, (ii) confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements below, and (iii) agree to be legally bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization — for example, by acting as an organization you manage — you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms, and “you” includes that organization.
2. Your account
Grassroot.gg shares its sign-in with FGCombo (fgcombo.com), which is also operated by us: the same account works on both. Your use of fgcombo.com is governed by FGCombo’s own terms. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping access to your email address and any connected sign-in provider secure. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
The information you give us — about yourself, your organization, your audience, your events and your business — must be accurate, and you must keep it up to date. Audience figures such as attendance and viewer counts must honestly reflect your real numbers.
3. Organizers, sponsors and approval
You can take part as an organizer, a sponsor, or both, either as yourself or as an organization you manage. Organizer listings and sponsor profiles are reviewed before they become fully visible or can take part in deals, and we may approve, decline, or later withdraw approval at our discretion — for example, when information appears inaccurate or a listing breaks these Terms. An invite from an approved member may approve a listing without a separate review; we may still review or withdraw that approval afterwards.
Sponsors are shown to organizers without their identity until the sponsor sends that organizer an offer, and organizer listings may be shown with limited detail to visitors who are not signed in. These are features of the Service, not promises of confidentiality: information you choose to share with another member, such as in an offer or a message, is visible to them.
4. Sponsorship deals
A sponsorship deal is an agreement between the sponsor and the organizer. Grassroot.gg provides the tools to make, discuss and track that agreement and, for deals that include money, arranges the payment through a payment facilitator as described in section 5. We are not a party to the sponsorship itself and do not guarantee that either side will perform. In particular:
- An offer states what the sponsor gives (money, products, services or other items) and what the organizer delivers in return. Once the organizer accepts, both sides are expected to carry out those terms.
- An organizer may accept an offer, or pass on it with an optional note. After a pass, the sponsor may send a revised offer during the period shown on the deal; once that period ends the deal closes.
- A sponsor may withdraw an offer before the deal is under way, optionally giving a reason. A withdrawn offer cannot be reopened; the sponsor can send a new one instead.
- Offers that go unanswered, and deals that stall, may be flagged, closed or cancelled by us.
- The organizer delivers the agreed promotion and submits proof — such as links, screenshots and figures — through the Service. The sponsor reviews the proof and either approves it or sends it back with an explanation.
- Items other than money — products, codes, services — are delivered directly between the two sides. We do not handle, ship, inspect or guarantee them.
Any disagreement between a sponsor and an organizer is primarily theirs to resolve. If a disagreement about proof reaches us, we may review the deal, its messages and its proof and decide whether the proof is approved or sent back; for deals that include money, that decision determines whether the payment held for the deal is released to the organizer. We may also cancel a deal that cannot be completed or that breaks these Terms.
5. Payments
For deals that include money, payments are processed by a licensed third-party payment facilitator that specializes in payments between the members of online marketplaces (the “payment facilitator”). The sponsor pays the amount shown on the accepted deal through the payment facilitator. The payment facilitator holds that payment on the organizer’s behalf while the deal is carried out and releases it to the organizer’s payout account once the sponsor approves the proof or we decide a dispute in the organizer’s favour. We tell the payment facilitator when to release, return or hold a payment, but, except during early access as described below, we do not hold members’ funds ourselves. All amounts are in US dollars unless the deal says otherwise.
Early access. While the Service is in early access, and until we move payments to the payment facilitator, we may arrange a deal’s payment and payout manually, through PayPal or another payment method we indicate for that deal. During that period, references in these Terms to the payment facilitator mean us together with the payment method used: the sponsor pays us, and we hold the payment on the organizer’s behalf and release, return or hold it as this section describes, and the fees of that payment method take the place of the payment facilitator’s fees.
- Fees. The fee, if any, that applies to a deal is shown before the deal is accepted. We may introduce or change fees for future deals; the fee shown when a deal was accepted is the one that applies to it.
- Promotional credits. We may cover part of what a sponsor owes, for example through a launch credit shown on the offer. A credit has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn or transferred, and is added to the organizer’s payout from our own funds.
- Cancellations and refunds. If a deal is cancelled after the sponsor has paid and before the payment is released to the organizer, the payment is returned to the sponsor, less any payment facilitator fees that cannot be recovered, unless the law requires otherwise. Once a payment has been released to the organizer, it is not reversed; any further claim is between the sponsor and the organizer.
- Payment facilitator. To pay or be paid you may need to accept the payment facilitator’s own terms and pass its identity and account checks; an organizer must do so before receiving a payout. The payment facilitator’s terms apply to your use of it, and we are not responsible for its delays, holds, checks or errors. We may change the payment facilitator.
- Taxes. Each side is responsible for its own taxes on a deal. We or the payment facilitator may ask for information that the law requires before paying out, and a payout may be withheld until it is provided.
- Holds. We may delay or withhold a payment or payout while we investigate suspected fraud, a breach of these Terms, or a legal requirement, whether we hold that payment ourselves or the payment facilitator holds it on our instruction.
6. Your content
“Your content” is everything you submit to the Service: listing and profile details, events, packages, photos, logos, offers, messages, proof, and anything else you upload or write. You keep ownership of your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for example, resize or crop) and distribute your content in order to operate, improve and promote the Service. This license ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except for copies we must keep for legal, tax or dispute purposes and content that other members have already received, such as messages and proof in a deal.
When a sponsor and an organizer agree a deal, the sponsor grants the organizer a non-exclusive license to use the sponsor’s name, logos and the materials provided through the deal for the purpose of delivering that deal’s promotion, and the organizer grants the sponsor a non-exclusive license to use the organizer’s name and the delivered promotion to show the sponsorship, unless the deal says otherwise.
You confirm that you own or have the necessary rights to everything you submit, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights. We may remove or hide any content, or limit who can see it, at any time.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- submit false, misleading or inflated information, including fake audience figures or proof;
- impersonate any person, organization, brand or event, or claim an affiliation you do not have;
- promote or sponsor gambling, betting, adult content, illegal drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods, or anything unlawful where it will be shown;
- harass, threaten, dox or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful, sexually explicit or violent content;
- send spam or unsolicited offers in bulk, or contact members for purposes unrelated to sponsorship;
- attempt to learn the identity of an anonymous sponsor or organizer by means other than the Service’s own features;
- commit fraud, launder money, or break sanctions or export laws;
- upload malware, probe or disrupt the Service, or access it by automated means such as scraping without our written permission;
- use the Service or its content to train, test or improve any artificial intelligence system; or
- help anyone else do any of the above.
You can block another member so that they can no longer send you offers. To report a member or content that breaks these Terms, email [email protected].
8. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text and logos, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or build a competing product from the Service. Game titles and other trademarks shown on the Service belong to their respective owners.
9. Links and third parties
Listings, profiles, messages and proof may link to websites and services we do not control, such as streams, stores and social media. We are not responsible for their content, safety or availability, and their own terms and policies apply. A link on the Service is not an endorsement.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access, remove your listings or profile, withdraw approvals, or cancel open deals if you break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe it is needed to protect other members or the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive — including those on content licenses already granted, payments owed, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law — survive termination.
11. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may change, pause or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and we will give reasonable notice of material changes, for example by email or on the Service. Changes do not apply retroactively to deals accepted before they take effect. By continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not verify, and do not guarantee, the accuracy of any listing, profile, audience figure or proof, the conduct of any member, or the outcome of any deal. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service, any deal, or the conduct of any member, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose and (b) one hundred US dollars. This limit does not apply to a payment held for a deal that is owed to you under section 5.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us, our affiliates and our personnel harmless from any claim, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your content, your deals, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
15. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: your physical or electronic signature; a description of the copyrighted work; where the material appears on the Service; your address, telephone number and email address; a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
17. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any terms shown on a deal, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. You and we are independent parties, and nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment or agency relationship — including between sponsors and organizers.
